About Shrivu Shankar

Shrivu Shankar is VP, AI Strategy at Abnormal AI, where he builds AI-native security products. He is based in San Francisco.

He joined Abnormal in 2022 as a machine learning engineer, using large language models to build cybersecurity products and superhuman detection systems, and became VP, AI Strategy in 2025. He holds a BS in Computer Science from The University of Texas at Austin (2018–2022).

He writes about coding agents, LLM systems, the Model Context Protocol (MCP), AI security, and the future of software engineering at Shrivu's Substack, with widely shared essays including "Everything Wrong with MCP", "How Cursor (AI IDE) Works", and "Building Multi-Agent Systems".

He has been building software in public since 2016 — 100+ projects spanning AI, full-stack, mobile, and security, cataloged at sshh.io/code with source on GitHub.
